Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

As part of the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Kozybayev University supports Goal 16 - promoting peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, providing access to justice for all, and building effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels.

Kozybayev University develops a system of self-governance, academic freedom, and partnership with society, ensuring trust, integrity, and equal opportunities for all participants in the educational process.

Effective Governance and Transparency

The university has established a system of open and accountable management.
The Academic Council, which includes representatives of the faculty, students, and staff, ensures collective decision-making and transparency in governance.
The university’s official website provides open access to financial reports that reflect the rational use of resources and accountability to society.
The university also implements an Information Policy that outlines mechanisms for interaction with external stakeholders - local communities, organizations, and parties not directly affiliated with the university. This policy aims to foster open dialogue and strengthen partnerships with society.

Academic Freedom and Ethics

Kozybayev University adheres to the principles of academic freedom, providing faculty and researchers with the opportunity to pursue scientific inquiry freely, exchange ideas, and carry out innovative projects.
The university operates based on an Academic Policy that ensures adherence to the standards of academic integrity, respect, and ethical conduct.
These principles foster a culture of trust and mutual respect within the educational environment.

Student Self-Government and Participation

Active student participation in university governance is carried out through the Student Government, which represents the interests of students, organizes initiatives, and promotes a culture of civic responsibility.

This form of self-governance helps students develop leadership skills, a sense of fairness, and the ability to make decisions in the interest of the community.

Fairness and Anti-Corruption Policy

The university implements an Anti-Corruption Policy aimed at preventing, detecting, and eliminating corrupt practices in educational and administrative activities.

The university regularly conducts awareness-raising events, fostering an atmosphere of trust, fairness, and legal culture among students and staff.

In addition, the university takes pride in its law graduates (who comprised 4% of the total graduates in 2024), who contribute to the development of the country’s legal system and the strengthening of the principles of law and justice.
