Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
As part of the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Kozybayev University supports Goal 11 - ensuring openness, safety, resilience, and environmental sustainability of cities and communities.
Kozybayev University is not just a place of learning but a vibrant space where history, culture, and modernity converge. The university strives to create a sustainable, comfortable, and accessible environment that promotes personal development and strengthens the university’s connection with the city.
The University as Part of a Sustainable City
Kozybayev University is an open, accessible, and green space where everyone can feel comfortable. The campus is well-equipped and includes parks, recreational zones, pedestrian pathways, and architectural landmarks. The university aims for its campus to be not only a place of study but also a space for living, socializing, and personal growth.
To ensure sustainable mobility and reduce the campus’s carbon footprint, measures are being implemented to promote environmentally friendly modes of transportation.
Bicycle parking facilities have been installed near academic buildings and dormitories, encouraging a healthy lifestyle among students and staff. The campus is designed to provide safe and convenient pedestrian movement, with green spaces and pathways connecting key campus facilities.
In addition, the university is developing initiatives aimed at optimizing transportation accessibility and supporting staff and students who choose eco-friendly modes of transport.
