Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality

As part of implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Kozybayev University supports Goal 5 – achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls.

Kozybayev University adheres to the principles of equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of sex, gender, or social status. The university systematically implements a gender equality policy aimed at creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive educational environment.

Monitoring and Reporting System

The university systematically measures and monitors key indicators reflecting the participation of women in academic and professional activities.

An annual report is prepared each year, including data on:

  • the number of applications submitted by women for admission and employment;
  • their acceptance rates for employment and educational programs;
  • the proportion of women receiving academic degrees;
  • the representation of women among senior faculty members and research staff.
Equal Opportunity Policy
The university has developed and is implementing Policy on Ensuring Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and Preventing Discrimination , aimed at ensuring equal access for women to education, employment, and career advancement.
Women in Science and Education

Women make up a significant portion of the university's faculty.
The university strives to strengthen the role of women in science and increase their participation in research and administrative activities.
Special attention is given to developing leadership skills and supporting young women scientists.

Women Graduates

Each year, the university graduates hundreds of women specialists in various fields: STEM, medicine, arts, humanities, and social sciences.
The proportion of female graduates is steadily increasing, reflecting the university’s success in promoting gender equality and expanding educational opportunities for women.
