Goal 10. Reducing inequality

Sustainable Development Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities

As part of the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Kozybayev University supports Goal 10 - reducing inequality within the country and between countries.

The university strives to provide equal opportunities for all students and staff, regardless of gender, age, nationality, social status, health condition, or other differences.

Kozybayev University aims to create an inclusive educational environment, ensuring equal opportunities for all students regardless of their social, cultural, or economic background.

Accessible Environment

To create comfortable and safe learning conditions for students with disabilities, the university is consistently implementing elements of barrier-free architecture.
All academic buildings and dormitories are equipped with tactile guiding paths to help visually impaired individuals navigate the campus confidently and independently.
Buildings are equipped with ramps, wider passages, and convenient entrance areas, ensuring accessibility to all campus infrastructure.
Special attention is given to living conditions: students with disabilities are prioritized for dormitory placements where safe and comfortable accommodations are provided.

Equality and Inclusion

The university promotes gender and social equality, reflected in the composition of staff, faculty, and students.
The university has approved the Policy on Ensuring EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) and Preventing Discrimination, aimed at preventing discrimination and supporting an inclusive environment.

Support and Assistance

The university employs a sign language interpreter to ensure accessibility of the educational process for students with hearing impairments.
A job description for the sign language interpreter has been developed and implemented, defining the procedures for assisting students and interacting with faculty.

Social Coordination and Initiatives

The university has established a Social Coordination Group that unites faculty, students, and administration to address social support issues and develop an inclusive environment.
